Chat it UP!!

The SeamedUP forum is UP and Running!!!

This is a great way to interact with other users and discuss all things sewing, crafting and quilting. We broke the forum into 6 categories:

1. All things SeamedUP - just a general discussion board
2. Techniques - the how-to's of what we all do
3. Fabric and Stash - place to talk about material things
4. Patterns and Books - discuss the latest print materials
5. Notions and Machines - talk about all those gadgets
6. Tech Support and Feature Requests - A place to post your help questions or request a change to the site.

Any user can add a topic to the forum either by clicking "New Topic" on the Chat it UP page or by opening the forum and clicking "New Topic".

My goal is to have 10 threads on each forum by the weekend. If your account is activated, hurry up and get over to www.seamedup.com/chat and add a new thread. And don't forget to stop by the "Hello World" post and introduce yourself!

We have sped up approvals. If you are still waiting, thank you for your patience. The current wait list is around 100 people. We should have you all approved by the end of the weekend. That means we will be over 350 members!!! That is a lot of people to connect with on the forums.


Tip - Until we create a way to search for users, friend them & message them, the forum is a way to look at who is on SeamedUP. From the forum posts you can click on the posting user's name and it will take you to their profile.


Our next step is to link user projects to the patterns and/or fabric in the database, so when you look at a pattern you can see projects made with it.

Nearly 200 users & a New Profile Page

I am super excited to tell you that SeamedUP has close to 200 users!!! The positive feedback has been overwhelming. To top it all off, everything has been working as expected.

We still have several hundred on our waiting list to approve. This first week we are going slowly, but I expect we can pick up speed on approvals soon. So if you are waiting, thank you for your patience. If you are not on the list yet ~ WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Everyone on the SeamedUP Update list got the info on how to register - so get to it!

The SeamedUP Sisters do not slow down. We may have been busy approving accounts and monitor results, but that did not stop us from moving forward. Over the weekend, each piece of data was reviewed for accuracy and I created a friendlier looking profile page.



This is a glimpse of the starting point. Don't you love how you can add a picture of your sewing room - or sewing space, in my case. You can also list your favorite quilting techniques and type of crafty project. Tell us as little or as much as you want. You can even list links to find you on your blog, facebook, twitter, etc... (possibly Etsy, too!)

Expect even more improvements to your profile as we move forward.

We're on Our Way

Great news - Seamedup.com has now entered Beta Test Phase 2.

Huh? What does that mean? Well, it means while we're not quite ready for our official public launch, we are building a wait list, and adding a few new users each day.

There are still bugs to work out, but we're on our way!

Hooray for Tech Support!!!

We are back on track! After getting some much needed tech support we load tested the site earlier this week and the results were very promising.

Thank you everyone who joined out test. I really appreciate you taking the time to log on when we tell you to.

So I am off to work fixing the major bugs our wonderful Test Team has found. I anticipate opening up the wait list for more users soon.
